Bulbous Mug

A standard form of more recent quality. This firing created especially dark orange peels in some of this work.

Speckled Mug

Unlike speckled clay you can buy from the store, I add industrial quartz sand to my clay that gives it white jewel like appearance when fired in the proper kilns. There is a textural quality to this method that makes the work unlike most pieces.

Centerpiece

This cylindrical centerpiece to a table or kitchen counter can hold fruit, vases, or decorations. It is woodfired, as the ash developed around the side walls in a diverse way.

Colored Mugs

A recent commission has left me with a surplus of bright colors. I've been using them over a variety of clays with combinations of glazes that have been quite fun. I hope to continue using these materials until I run out!

Planters

I am constantly making new planters with a specific, rustic clay body I make from recycled and foraged clay materials. The clay is unique in that it produces rough textures and rich iron spotting. At some point soon I will be able to start throwing functional ware with it again.

Plates made with re clay and white slip in the center. I leave the rims unglazed as a aesthetic matte accent and functional gripping section.

Plate Commission

These plates are a new color scheme and firing temperature than I normally do. I've received a lot of second hand materials to work with and so my process has changed temporarily.

Soap Dishes

Carved soap dishes fired in the soda kin. They are made in two parts, the tray underneath to catch the scum, and the soap holder that is textured to prevent sticking.
